Big Brother?

This was a little creepy.

My boss, whose office is right next to mine, said he saw a SUV drive by snapping pictures of my office. I didn't see it in the act because I was in the lobby with a client, but I went outside and saw the SUV and a family getting out of the vehicle taking pictures like my office building was a tourist attraction.

I think it's nothing, but I took a license plate number just in case.

Could it be a prospective tenant / purchaser? I take pictures of houses I'm considering buying. Or perhaps a new employee taking a picture to show his family where he works? Or maybe you're more of a celebrity than you realize.

During my campaign while I was posting signs in Davis County with my friend J. Dell Holbrook a man in a black Audi stopped his car in the middle of the road and snapped a photo of J. Dell.

When J. Dell tried to say, "What's up" the driver said "hi" and sped off.

That's when the paranoia set in.

Maybe he just thought J.Dell was sexy.

I was sea kayaking on the Puget Sound, solo, about three days out, and paddled up to a nuclear submarine. It was a foggy morning. When they finally saw me they took pictures too. And pointed, and yelled lots of things I couldn't really understand. Something about needing 500 yards clearance... Then they sent a fast little boat with guns after me.

That's when the paranoia set in. For them.

Geronimo and Rob, Those experiences sound much more intense then mine, gees.

Last year I had a client get investigated by IRS CID.(Criminal Investigation)The driveby photo event was something that occured to him. I run a clean practice, but part of the reason I run such a clean practice is the fear of CID. Paranoia is a part of my career.

Hmmm...I felt a little guilty after reading this. I'm sure I've caused paranoia for dozens of people.

I'm a real estate appraiser by profession. Part of my job is to drive past recently sold properties I consider to be good comparable sales to subject properties I'm appraising. More than once I've gotten weird looks from property owners or their neighbors. Its part of the job though and I always try to explain to someone who stops me to ask what I'm doing. I love it when I actually get to talk to someone who recently purchased a comparable property because I can get tons of data to support my value estimates! Sorry...too much information probably....
